Terms of Service

Last updated August 8, 2026

By creating a HealthBase account, joining a family care space, or using HealthBase, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

The service

HealthBase is a coordination and organization tool for families managing care — appointments, bills, insurance, documents, medications and tasks. HealthBase is not a healthcare provider, medical device, insurer, care manager, emergency service, or substitute for professional medical, legal, insurance, financial, or tax advice.

No medical advice or emergency use

HealthBase does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or monitor any disease or condition. Information, reminders, summaries, AI-generated outputs, document extractions, bill comparisons, appeal drafts, and other content in HealthBase are for convenience and informational purposes only. Always consult qualified healthcare professionals and other appropriate professionals before making decisions about care, treatment, medication, billing, insurance, benefits, or legal rights. Do not rely on HealthBase in a medical emergency; call your local emergency number immediately.

User responsibility

  • You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • The person who creates a family space is its Owner and controls membership and roles; Owners are responsible for who they invite and what access they grant.
  • You're solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, legality, and appropriateness of the health, billing, insurance, medication, document, and care information you enter, upload, share, or rely on.
  • You're responsible for independently verifying reminders, deadlines, AI-generated content, extracted document fields, bills, insurance information, emergency-card details, and any other HealthBase output.

Sharing links

Invite links and emergency-card links are bearer links — anyone holding a valid, unexpired link can use it. You're responsible for sharing them only with people you intend to grant access to, and for revoking access if a link is compromised. HealthBase is not responsible for unauthorized access caused by your sharing, forwarding, publishing, or failure to protect a link.

Acceptable use

Don't use HealthBase to store data for people who haven't consented to it being recorded, to impersonate someone, to attempt to access another family's data, to violate law, or to upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.

Third-party services

HealthBase may depend on third-party platforms, identity providers, payment processors, hosting providers, AI providers, storage providers, email providers, and other vendors. We are not responsible for third-party services, content, outages, security incidents, terms, privacy practices, or decisions.

Disclaimer of warranties

HealthBase is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, and reliability. We do not guarantee that HealthBase will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, complete, current, or free from harmful components, or that any data, reminders, notifications, AI outputs, or document extractions will be accurate or available.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HealthBase and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, replacement costs; or damages arising from medical, care, insurance, billing, legal, tax, or financial decisions made using or in connection with HealthBase, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to HealthBase will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to HealthBase for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $100.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HealthBase and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, and licensors from and against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from or related to your use of HealthBase, your content, your sharing of information or links, your violation of these terms, your violation of law, or your violation of anyone else's rights.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

This is a general template, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by counsel before relying on it in production, especially given the health-adjacent data HealthBase stores.
